Kuzamura Ubuzima (Growing Health) is a hospital-based project that grows crops on hospital land to provide patients with balanced, nutritious, organic meals, which government hospitals are unable to provide in Rwanda. We provide patients with food to fulfill their immediate nutritional needs, but we also provide their families with knowledge, skills, and resources through our education, training, and seed programs. Our impact is instant -- helping mothers to produce breastmilk, and patients to heal and survive; but also sustained past the period of hospitalization to help families avoid the perpetual cycle of poverty, hunger, and illness. There is a strong push to improve the health and nutrition of Rwandans, and we are proud to be part of that effort.
